Online Classified Ads Software v.6.1.2 Release: New PDF Export Addon
The WorksForWeb team announces the release of new versions of all its classified scripts. Version 6.1.2 includes an enhanced banner management addon that allows website owners to create new banner types. There's also a new module to convert listings into the PDF format, and, as always, some minor additions and enhancements. Here are the most significant ones of them:
Updated Banner Management Addon
Our team dramatically improved the Banner Management Addon. Now it is possible to create text- or HTML /JavaScript-based banners by simply adding text/html/JS code into the banner window to create banners.
Website owners no longer need to run two types of banner systems, BMA and Google AdSense, in parallel to one another. Now BMA manages both regular image and/or SWF banners, and AdSense code (or any other third party JS code) via a single convenient interface.
Here are the advantages of the improved BMA. Any Worksforweb-based classified website admin can update and modify text banners much easier than Flash or image banners. The built-in WYSIWYG editor provides ample capabilities in editing banner contents and appearance. Including HTML links within text banners is a winning SEO strategy as texts have a lot more weight for search engine crawlers and are visible on all devices and in all browsers.
Please visit the Banner Management Addon page to learn more about BMA.
PDF Export Addon
The PDF export addon is developed to export listing information into PDF files. One can print these PDF files out and use them as promotional booklets, leaflets, or handouts.
Likewise, car dealers or real estate agents can select and export as many listings as they want into a single PDF file for subsequent emailing to their prospects.
Learn more about this module on the PDF Export Addon page.
Design.css
One more enhancement of the newly released version allows editing the design.css file via the admin panel. This file contains CSS styles for all design elements of a theme. Consequently, being able to edit design.css via the admin panel without the need to use third party editing tools means changing the look and feel of the website straight from the admin area.
Admins are now able to change (or set additional) styles, fonts, colors, margins, lines, background images etc and see the result immediately in the frontend.
Sorting Field Values
During the import of listings, many new field values can be added to your database. These values are unsorted and put at the end of the list of values. This is not a convenient or a particularly user-friendly arrangement, and it needs to be corrected.
The newly introduced field value-sorting enhancement helps sort all tree values alphabetically on all levels at once. The admin selects multiple (or all) values and sorts them via a “Mass action” function.
Minor Improvements
On top of the above, our developers, as always, implemented a number of interface and usability enhancements, both minor and noticeable, and fixed a few minor bugs.
The changelog page provides the list of the main changes we made.
