Currency Converter Addon

Globalization brings new business opportunities and breaks more and more barriers. Distances and differences between cultures, countries, and people no longer play a great role in trading across borders. However, foreign exchange rates, various currencies still complicate foreign trade for modern day businesses.

Prices quoted in foreign currencies can be quite deceiving. To make wise business decisions, one has to have a very good understanding of what price tags actually mean in terms of one’s own currency.

In order to address the issue with prices, we offer you a new Currency Converter addon, which is suitable for all WorksForWeb classified software products version 6.1.3 and above.

Overview

The Currency Converter module is developed specifically website owners with multi-national audiences. It is instrumental in providing information on listing pricing in various currencies. Any visitor can easily check the prices of cars, houses, apartments, motorbikes, or household items quoted in their native currency.

Currency Converter Settings

Currency conversion rates are based on the services provided by Open Exchange Rates (https://openexchangerates.org). To enable multi-currency support, a website admin would need an active account (free or paid) on the OER website, and the Currency Converter Addon properly installed and configured. Obviously, the addon won’t function without the OER account.

All the information on the currency conversion settings, rates, terms and conditions, etc. can be found on the official Open Exchange Rates website. Every Open Exchange Rates account has a unique API Code. This code should be inserted in the “API Code” field located in the relevant tab on the System Settings page. To setup currencies to be displayed on the website, the admin should select the base currency and several currencies to choose from by visitors.

How It Works For Visitors

Visitors of a WorksForWeb-based classified ads website can select a target currency in a drop-down field. The prices in the target currency would then be recalculated for all “Money” type fields (a newly-introduced data field type).

When the module is installed, the Advanced Search Form would contain two price fields. The active field displays prices in the target currency, whereas the inactive field would contain prices in base (original) currency.

Search Results page would display prices in the target currency, while the Listing Details page would display prices in both base and target currencies.

How to Get CCA

The Currency Converter addon is an optional module. It is not included into any default package of any WorksForWeb classified software products, and is sold and installed separately. The cost of the addon includes free installation, and the price for this very handy addon is only $49. Please contact the Sales team to learn more about purchase terms.

Every addon that we are offering is designed for seamless operation ONLY with the default website. We do not guarantee that the addon will work with websites that have code/template modifications made by yourself, us, or any third party due to possible compatibility issues.
