Feed Import Addon

The value of a classified website to visitors is measured by a number of ads posted on it at any given time. Many startup classified services are struggling to attract their first loyal customers while a number of high-ranked classified websites are out there offering their listings for re-posting. All you need is a handy tool to import the data into your website.

By popular demand, we have created a third party feed import module for our new v.6.0 software product release.

The new Feed Import module integrates the capability to tap into third party data sources, convert their ads into your website's format and automatically monitors listings for duplicates and removes orphan ads.

Using this module is intuitively easy. Start by adding a new feed from the Feed Manager section of your admin panel. The next step is to configure feed parameters such as feed name, description, import format (XML, CSV, XLS) and other information in corresponding fields.

You should not worry about field name mismatch of source data and your website's listing fields. You can mark and match fields manually.

The module works with multiple sources of different data types. All you need to do is add new feeds, or import offline files that your feed provider pumps into your hosting account.

In addition, you can set up periodic updates using cron and ensure that your listings are periodically synchronized on your website with third party sources. You just have to make sure your server is capable of handling the amount of listings you want to pump in with your Feed Import module.

We have added a couple of awesome features to properly synchronize listings between a remote source and your website. These options for automatic update compare listings and either leave them as-is, modify them with new info, or remove if no longer available at the source.

Note for GoDaddy clients

Please be advised that GoDaddy hosting is not entirely compatible with this addon due to insufficient database management tools available, and may require additional server configuration and/or addon customization (no CPanel tools are provided by GD).

Assistance with server configuration or addon customization for GD customers may be provided for additional cost, but we do not guarantee its operation due to server-side issues beyond our control.

Every addon that we are offering is designed for seamless operation ONLY with the default website. We do not guarantee that the addon will work with websites that have code/template modifications made by yourself, us, or any third party due to possible compatibility issues.
